Dear Steffen,

The cities you mentioned are indeed the biggest and most attractive ones in Poland.
If the group is mainly into shopping and museums those cities would be enough.

But there are some places also worth seeing:

  1. The Museum in Auschwitz: http://www.auschwitz.org/, which is located not so far from Kraków, as well as:
  2. Wieliczka Salt Mine: http://www.kopalnia.pl/index.php?id_language=2&id_news=&action=&id_site=&language_change=1&, really amazing place to visit.
  3. Zakopane: If they would like to spend some time at the mountains: http://www.promocja.zakopane.pl/?strona,podserwis,pol,glowna,0,0,mainpage,english,ant.html
  4. Katowice and the Silesia metropolitan are: with many coal mines and the socialist realism architecture: http://www.katowice.eu/en/
  5. Łodź is also very interesting industrial city: http://en.uml.lodz.pl/
  6. Mazury area: there is no non-Polish website, but here is link to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masuria

Here are websites of the other cities. There are contact details for tourist offices on every website:

  1. Warszawa:  http://warsawtour.pl/en
  2. Gdańsk ( it is a part of metropolitan area called Trójmiasto with Sopot and Gdynia, also worth seeing):  http://www.en.gdansk.gda.pl/
  3. Poznań: http://www.poznan.pl/mim/main/en/
  4. Wrocław:  http://www.wroclaw.pl/
  5. Kraków: http://www.krakow.pl/english/

If you need any further information or help, do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,
Katrina Wrzesień

Dear Katarina,

We want to help Norwegians (age – 60+) in better planning their travel to Poland.

With many new alternatives for low cost travel (Ryanair, Norwegian ….) it will be a good opportunity for them to travel and enjoy relaxing and shopping in Poland.

To get a good understanding of each city we would like to contact the local tourist offices in:

  • Warzawa
  • Gdansk
  • Poznan
  • Wroclaw
  • Krakow

Do you have suggestions of other cities we should include?

Looking forward to your answer.
